Upholstery Cleaning Services
Professional Upholstery Cleaning Makes a Difference.
Treat Your Upholstery with the Care it Deserves.
Most people clean their upholstery furnitures by hand, a cloth, or a vacuum. But they don't realize how important and different it is when done professionally. This is where we come in to let you know of the difference and leave you with some tips you can do on your own.
Cleaning your upholstery with just a vacuum is like cleaning your clothes with a vacuum. It simply won't do. You need to wash it thoroughly to rid the dirt, dead skin, body oils, fungus, food particles...etc. And that applies even more with your upholstery. Imagine the amount of stains and food particles that leave behind and stain your upholstery. This is why you need professional help just the same way you would wash your clothes with a specialized washing machine for clothes.
How We Care For Your Upholstery Sofas and Chairs.
Getting Down to the Nitty-Gritty of Upholstery Cleaning.
Before we get into it, it is important for us to note that you should only do this if you are confident enough of your carpet skills and your use with the tools we will describe in the steps. If not, please refrain from proceeding and call one of our carpet experts, he or she will gladly help you finish the work.
Carpet Pro-Tip: Look at your upholsters' cleaning code which is usually at the under-side of the furniture. That code contains instructions in how to clean and would give you a general idea of what you can use and cannot use to clean the upholstery.
Before we get into the steps of cleaning the upholstery, we always make an inspection assessment. We make sure it has no burns, scratch, or tears anywhere on the upholstery. If there is anything to note, we will let you know. Then we identify the material to know which product to use on which fabric. The equipments we use covers 99% of all fabric materials out there. Once we know which material to use for which fabric, we will usually (if the client is present) ask the client what their expectations are and if it can be matched.
Once all the assessment is done, we then proceed with brushing the upholstery to scrape off all the dust and dirt. Then we pre-vacuum the material of the upholstery and apply a mist-spray on top of the whole area of the upholstery. After that, we will clean it with a jet-tool that follows a horse-hair brush to rinse and groom it thoroughly.
We make sure to place the upholstery on top of a cloth to not to drop any chemicals onto the floor and other furniture before we pre-spray a neutral citrus solvent-based pump spray evenly on the upholstery.
Carpet Pro-Tip: If you're going to blot or rub your upholstery, make sure to know use the right cleaning product such as a solvent bar or terry cloth and pad the upholstery according to its age and material to make sure you're not scraping off the material.
And that is pretty much all! If you feel confident and up to the task, then go for it. But if not, always feel free to contact a professional carpet company like ours to help sort it out for you and leave you with some tips for next time.
